Museum to rise in Intramuros to house religious collection
The Intramuros Administration has announced plans to build a museum at the ruins of the San Ignacio Church. Bambi Harper, administration chief, said the new ecclesiastical museum will house artifacts, sculptures, and numerous works of art during the Spanish colonial period.

UIC alum designs Lincoln Park Theater
John Morris, a UIC alum, is designing the renovation of the Lincoln Park Theater. In the fall of 2009, the building at 1425 W. Fullerton will be finished with its multi-million dollar makeover. The refurbished building will have a 299-seat theater and gallery area.

Fifteen campus buildings were flooded, including the Iowa Museum of Art, despite what university president Sally Mason termed "herculean efforts" to contain the rushing Iowa River.
