Smithsonian has whale of a tale
WASHINGTON — Beginning Sept. 27 the first thing visitors will see as they come through the door of the new Ocean Hall at the National Museum of Natural History is a 45-foot whale. Not just any whale, but one named Phoenix, a North Atlantic right whale, a rare and endangered wonder that had been tracked by the New England Aquarium since her birth in 1987.
