Splash into Pride of the Fox RiverFest
The 26th annual Pride of the Fox RiverFest traditionally is the area's first big summer festival, where unique experiences are combined with festival favorites. "We offer a variety of events that span and appeal to all age groups," said event organizer Joy Meierhans. The festival, which will be held downtown and along the Fox River, starts today and runs through Sunday.

Elgin's first 'fringe' fest
Rage Against the Machine wasn't the kind of band Sean Hargadon expected to hear on the streets of Paris. "They have this festival of music once a year where every street in Paris has a musician or band playing," Hargadon said. "We were walking around and checking things out away from the west bank. There was a mob scene; it was all for this festival of music."
