Well-known photographer dies
A long-time fixture at Habersham County weddings and special events has died. John E. Jones, 65, of Cornelia, died Nov. 25. Jones owned and operated John Jones Photography for many years, was a former Marine and was a member of the Cornelia Kiwanis Club and Cornelia First Presbyterian Church.

Hobbyist creates her own little world
Barbara Merrell works in a world of miniature, fashioning houses and other buildings, complete with scale furnishings, from kits or from bits and pieces she finds at yard sales and thrift shops. It’s a hobby that has gained her much local recognition, even to the point that 11 of her miniatures now are on display at the Biggs Museum of American Art.
