Bringing art to new audiences has just become easier for the Freeport Art Museum. The museum snagged a $20,000 MetLife Foundation grant. That award will support off-site arts education programming, Executive Director Jennifer Kirker said Friday, November 21, 2008. Kirker stressed how the gift will further the mission of the museum.

Giving thanks for our freedoms
Enjoying and working with art as I often do, certain images come to mind with particular holidays. At Thanksgiving I often think about the Norman Rockwell picture “Freedom from Want.” The painting depicts a family around the dinner table with Mother holding the turkey and Father, standing ready to carve it.
