Legislation would help artists, museums
U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy and Sen. Robert Bennett introduced Senate Bill 548 (S. 548), the Artist Museum Partnership Act, in the United States Senate to permit artists, writers and composers to take fair market value tax deductions for self-created works given to nonprofit institutions. U.S. Rep. John Lewis and Rep. Jim Ramstad introduced a similar bill (H.R. 1524) in Congress.
