Turner, Neuwirth Light Up Little Known French Play
As part of the French Institute’s ongoing annual Crossing the Line Festival, the French Institute Alliance Francaise joined forces with the Flea Theater to present a free reading of little-known French avant-garde writer Henri Becque’s The Vultures on October 1. Becque’s writing is characterized by a pessimistic naturalism, with a sharp social eye pervading his work as a dramatist.

Sculpture dedicated for Hobbs Air Field
The outline of a bomber aircraft can be spotted from the Lovington Highway near the Hobbs Industrial Air Park. The aircraft, a B-17 Flying Fortress, is a 19-foot tall, 82-foot long steel sculpture designed by artist Brian Norwood that sits on the edge of the runway at HIAP.
