This year's Fall ArtFest kicks off with a reception Friday night, and the juried art show will fill Downtown Saturday and Sunday with displays of new and favorite artists for the expected crowds of art lovers.

Roosevelt artists to host y'art' sale
ROOSEVELT — Visitors from near and far are welcome to partake in the "Garage Gallery Lawn Sale Boutique" this weekend. A few Roosevelt artists have collaborated to present their work for admiration and purchase Nov. 8 under the changing autumn leaves at the home studio of Frances Duckett, 10 Homestead Lane, Roosevelt. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Larger than life artistry
This presidential election year, it seems appropriate that a large-scale mixed media work called "Office Politics" by local artist Nicholas Vanderpool won an Award of Merit in Rosewood's HWD sculpture competition. But in this case, instead of choosing from Republican or Democratic candidates, the viewer chooses Regular or Decaf. This particular piece is also a working percolator.
