What afestival. If anything, last week- end’s Historic Bluffton Arts Seafood Festival might have been too much of a good thing. Literally too much. Ask anyone who walked from the Promenade to the river and back again. Whew. And that’s not even counting the kids’ fishing tournament at the oyster factory.

Artists interested in entering their work in a juried art fair can now enter the "Call to Artists," the Mayslake Peabody Estate's annual juried art fair. The fair is set for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 25 and 26. Jury fee is $35 for nonmembers and $25 for members. There is a $150 booth fee.

My View: Taking poetry to the people through community TV
With the help of Cape Ann Television, ably led by Sinikka Nogelo, "The Writer's Block" launched its 19th season on Sept. 25. This year, as we have done for the last six, the kickoff program featured student poet winners of the Gloucester Lyceum's Poetry Without Paper contest. The kids, families in attendance, pumped the half hour full of energy and good writing. It was electric.
