Mayfair's fortunes change for better
Allentown arts fest was struggling two years ago. This year, it bounced back. The winter before the 20th anniversary of Mayfair, the future of Allentown's spring arts festival was in doubt. Unsuccessful fundraisers, crowds less than enthused about paying a $5 fee for the once-free event, and a debt of $260,000 had organizers wondering whether they'd be able to host Mayfair 2006.
