Short Film Festival to be part of action-packed weekend
The penultimate weekend of August in Highland Park brings forth the 25th annual Port Clinton Art Festival with its 260 artisans, a second annual Taste of Highland Park with entertainers and about 18 participating restaurants, and the inaugural edition of the Highland Park Short Film Festival with juried selections from about 200 submittals.

Preschoolers sent to Kohl museum camp
To ease the trauma when they start kindergarten at Glenview District 34 in the fall, a group of 20 mostly bilingual children were able to attend summer camp for five weeks at Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview. Glenview Education Foundation provided $16,500 to allow the children to attend for free. And District 34 transported them for free.

A federal grand jury this week indicted a Uniontown man accused of using online auction sites to scam people who thought they were buying rare coins and collectibles. Jason D.
