It was a memorable day for former Lithgow High student Peta Edwards when she was joined by family, friends, former and current teachers and students for the presentation of her art works “Can You Imagine? (Mum’s Story)” to the National Museum of Australia in Canberra.

4-H Fair winds down
The 2008 Edgar County 4-H Fair came to an end Wednesday evening with the annual livestock auction rounding out the annual event. According to 4-H Fair officials, the livestock auction raised a total of $54,825 with the top seller being Mariah Crandell selling her beef for $3,750.

Welcoming Back the Spirits
Visitors join in some Japanese folk dancing today on Westport’s Jesup Green. The event marked Bon Odori, or Obon, and derives from a traditional Buddhist belief that deceased family members return for a visit once a year in the summer. The festival welcomes the spirits back.
