Miss Venezuela was crowned Miss Universe 2008 on Monday in a contest marked by the spectacle of Miss USA falling down during the evening gown competition for the second year in a row. The final five contestants included four from Latin America, including Miss Mexico, Miss Dominican Republic and Miss Colombia.

Miss Venezuela, Dayana Mendoza, was crowned Miss Universe 2008 in a pageant in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, Vietnam.Mendoza is a 22-year-old aspiring interior designer who also said she enjoys photography and is interested in advertising.
